THIS NEW training course is being developed to provide a wide-ranging overview of all aspects of pigging operations. From April, 2009, courses will be held twice-yearly at the CTDUT facility adjacent to Petrobras’ Duque de Caxias refinery, near Rio de Janeiro. Initially, the course will use the recently-inagurated 14-in, 120-m long, water- and nitrogen/air-driven test loop at the site, but from 2010 the course will be adapted to use the 2.5-km long 12-in crude oil and 16-in gas test loops which are currently under construction.
The content of the course is being developed jointly by Penspen, Rosen Engineering, CTDUT, and Clarion/Scientific Surveys Ltd. Rosen Engineering, through its Rio de Janeiro base, has agreed to provide cleaning-, geometry-, and intelligent tools for use during the course, along with its expert technicians.
A sliding scale of registration fees is offered to companies and individuals as follows (excluding the cost of overnight accommodation):
1. for CTDUT member companies
1 delegate – 20% discount = $4000
2-5 delegates – 25% discount = $3750 each
6-10 delegates – 30% discount = $3500 each
11+ delegates – 40% discount = $3000 each
2. for non-CTDUT member companies
1 delegate - full fee = $5000
2-5 delegates – 10% discount = $4500 each
6-10 delegates – 15% discount = $4250 each
11+ delegates – 20% discount = $4000 each
Members of PIPE - 10% discount (which can be combined with the above fees)
